The Grande Cascade lends a lively atmosphere to this crossroads. The nearby Monument des Fusillés commemorates the murder of 35 young men on 16 August 1944. The château, which houses a WWF exhibition on sustainable development, still has one of its towers, a vestige of the 13C abbey. You can make out a windmill near the racecourse, opened by Napoleon III in 1857. Near the Polo de Paris, a stele reminds visitors that the aviator Santos-Dumont set a record here in 1906, when he covered 220m in 21.4 seconds.
