Created by pork butchers, Véro and Dodat in 1826, this arcade was the first Parisian street to have gas lighting installed and crowds of travellers passed through here waiting for their coaches. Admire the fine neo-Classical decoration (painted ceilings, black and white chequered tiled floor) and its high-quality boutiques, some of which are endowed with an old-fashioned charm. Increasingly popular with luxury brands, it is today home to a boutique of the famous shoe designer, Christian Louboutin, and art galleries.
