Built between 1858 and 1863 based on the model of English docks, this immense row of warehouses almost 400m long harks back to Marseille's influence when it was at its economic zenith. Renovated by architect Éric Castaldi along modern lines, with the use of wood, terraces, inner courtyards and huge skylights, the docks now offer a pleasant environment for a relaxing stroll or a browse in the shops.
