This park was completed in 1878 by Jean-Charles Alphand under the direction of Haussmann. It has been laid out as an English garden, with meandering paths, hillocks, waterfalls and a large artificial lake. The park is dominated by the Mire du Sud obelisk, the southern bearing of the old Paris meridian line.
