As you leave the passageway from Place du Cairo, this was the courtyard of Miracles, masterfully described by Victor Hugo in Notre-Dame de Paris. The beggars took pride of place until 1667. Note, when leaving the passageway, the house with lots of «Egyptian» decorations on the façade.
