Set up in 1996 in an 1870s palace, this museum presents an extraordinary collection of more than 14 000 artefacts from around the globe: from Egyptian sarcophagi to Roman ceramics, from Tuscan jars to Congolese statuettes. It also displays several reconstructions of 15C-19C pharmacies, the most striking of which is a 19C Chinese example, which operated until 1996 in Macau.
