La Rambla, with its shady central walkway, is Barcelona's most famous street. This long avenue that descends towards the sea is in and of itself a universe, packed with people, a colourful crowd, strolling between the kiosks, street artists and café terraces. More often referred to as "Las Ramblas", due to its being divided into five sections, each with a different name, it extends one kilometre from Plaça de Catalunya to Port Vell.
