Consecrated in 1175, this Romanesque basilica is emblematic of Venetian elegance, particularly the apse and lateral façade. The rows of blind arches and the series of slender columns suggest the influence of Lombardian and Tuscan artists. The interior sports remnants of Byzantine-inspired Romanesque frescoes (12C) on the north side and in the side chapels of the chancel. The white-marble Baroque high altar (1701) is graced with statues of the four patron saints of Zadar: Chrysogonus, Simeon, Anastasia and Zoïle.
