Villars Cave
O Guide Vert
Opinião do Guia Michelin
A 600m route takes visitors along the galleries of Villars Cave, discovered in 1953, revealing a diverse series of amazing concretions: draperies up to 6m long, rimstone pools and columns. Some stalactites, composed of almost pure calcite, are of a remarkably bright white. Also noteworthy are the prehistoric paintings, believed to date, like the Lascaux paintings, from the early Magdalenian period (around 19 000 BC). A 700m-long educational tour explains the evolution of the wildlife and plant life from the Cro-Magnon era up to the present day.
