Dedicated to Auguste and his wife Livia, this temple looks like a copy the Maison Carrée in Nîmes (together, they are the only two Roman temples preserved in France today). Its façade, made up of a row of six columns supporting the entablature, dominated the Forum. It was transformed into a church in the Middle Ages and during the Revolution was dedicated to the worship of the goddess of Reason. Before being restored under the aegis of Prosper Mérimée.
