The upper basins of Vianden hydroelectric power station form an artificial lake between 14 and 35 m deep in the shape of an hour glass. A staircase takes you to a section of the dyke providing an interesting view over the basin and the water tower reached by a foot-bridge. At the foot of the basins, you will see the Our valley dug into the Oesling agricultural plateau and the German hillsides.
