The former Albret family home was transformed in the 16C by architect Louis de Foix who designed the Cordouan lighthouse. In the main courtyard he added a formal gallery in the Italian style. On the side of the river, visitors can admire the pavilion, terraces and monumental staircase (1695), the formal gardens and Louis XIII and Louis XIV period furniture, the fireplaces in the Henri IV drawing room, the 18C brassware in the dining room (14C) and the chapel, built in the style of an echo chamber.
