This museum is located on the listed site of the Iron Forges. Look out for the machines, powered by four giant paddle wheels harnessing the energy of the River Orbe, together with an operational forge, where blacksmiths can sometimes be seen plying their trade. Upstairs is some interesting audio-visual material on the history of the Simplon Railway and a huge model with 277m of tracks, featuring miniature models of the trains that have been passing through Vallorbe since 1870.
