A coal mine has been re-created here in the galleries of an old quarry. A tour of the museum provides an insight into coal extraction methods in Limburg before the closure of the last mines. A film from 1966 provides footage of the collieries. As you stroll through the different galleries, you will discover the means by which workers and the coal were transported, the water extraction pumps, the stanchions supporting the gallery, safety systems, as well as fossils within the marl itself.
