It is in its souks, partially covered with masonry, vine arbours and reeds, that Taza has best preserved the character of its Berber town. The mats and rugs are made in the nearby mountains by the Beni Ouarain tribe. Turn left after the Market Mosque to enter the kissaria (covered market).
