Music is sacred here, as the abbey's acoustics confirm. This former Cistercian abbey, built in the 12C, was on the verge of falling into ruin when a music-loving monk saved it thanks to a massive restoration project in the 1970s. It has now become an international research, training and creative centre for religious music and, as a result, has acquired an international reputation that extends far beyond its borders.
