If you leave Selçuk to the east, towards Aphrodisias and Pamukkale, you'll have a long trip ahead of you in the company of lorries and buses: here the national road crosses the vast Buyuk Menderes fertile plain. Why not break your journey halfway at the ruins of ancient Nysa, hidden amid the mountains in the middle of a delightful olive grove, where the experience of quietly strolling around the shaded site far from the noise and activity of the plain is truly delightful. Neglected by tourist buses, Nysa is nothing but silence and beauty.
