The statue representing Gutenberg, who lived in Strasbourg from 1434 to 1444, stands in the square of the same name. The work was sculpted by David d'Angers. Behind the statue, the chamber of commerce occupies a Renaissance building that was home to the councillors of the free city up until the Revolution.
