This very well-designed museum is devoted to "black gold" and its extraction. It is housed in a building by the port of Stavanger and rather resembles a drilling platform waiting to be towed out to sea. Interactive displays, models and films explain technological breakthroughs, working conditions at sea, the importance of oil for our society and the management of oil revenues. A very instructive visit, including the popular Geo Park which is especially designed for children.
