Fontdouce Abbey
O Guide Vert
Opinião do Guia Michelin
Sheltered in a pretty little valley, this abbey was founded by the Benedictines in the 12C. Since the 1970s extensive works have seen its convent buildings developed. Note the vast chapter house comprising 12 ogive vaults resting on pillars. Excavations in 2006 unearthed an exceptionally large monks hall (30m by 12m). The pleasant formal gardens and medicinal garden, interspersed with water features will tempt visitors to linger.
