Named after its first owner, Judge Altemberger, this edifice, blending Gothic and Baroque styles, was the seat of Sibiu's town hall from 1550 to 1947. Today it houses the history museum, with collections largely sourced from the Brukenthal museum: Roman and medieval lapidarium, weapons and armour, coins and medals, etc.
