House of Jardies
O Guide Vert
Opinião do Guia Michelin
Simple but charming, with its claret shutters and trellises, this 17C house was part of the Jardies estate. Balzac bought it in 1838, but racked with debt sold the estate in 1841. In 1878, it was acquired by Gambetta, whose statue by Bartholdi can still be admired here, and who lived and died in this modest property. Souvenirs and anecdotes relating to this statesman from the Third Republic are displayed here.
