Featuring the colourful pop art work, Spring, by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen, the plaza marks the entrance to the banks of the Cheonggye. What you see today is the spectacular result of a project to "restore" the river, an initiative by Lee Myung-bak when he was mayor of Seoul: a 10.9km stretch has thus been turned into a lovely area for a stroll, far from the urban din. A real popular success that has been drawing crowds since 2005!
