Definitely worth a visit, a permit is required to access this nature reserve of forest, mangroves and sandy beaches. Also worth seeing are the rock paintings at Punta del Este (the cave nicknamed the "Sistine Chapel of the Caribbean") and the village of Cocodrilo, whose inhabitants live mainly from their fishing activities.
