The brightly coloured Church of San Francisco Acatepec looks like a giant porcelain ornament. The façade entirely covered in specially made azulejos tiles has the form of a finely wrought churrigueresque retable. Note the elegant blue columns decorated with rounded ceramics and those on the bell tower with cabling chiseled out of the plaster. The inside, painstakingly restored after a fire, is dazzling.
