The delightful historic district of Safranbolu, perfect to explore on foot, is home to some of the most interesting houses in the town, built from a mixture of wood and adobe, some decorated with elaborate wood carvings and others with fine stuccowork. Do not miss Yemeniciler Arastasi (a labyrinthine market full of craft shops), the Ottoman cemetery, without forgetting the mosque and the caravanserai.
