The charm of the old town of Rovinj lies in its narrow streets flanked by tall houses with folding shutters. Some lead to Piazza Matteotti, others to the main square (Veli trg/Piassa Grande), lined with old houses. You will also come across the lovely Grisia, which means "church" in the local dialect, with its attractive façades and delightful inner courtyards. Finally, don't miss St Euphemia cathedral, whose bell tower commands a superb view of the rooftops, the isthmus, the port and the sea.
