Puycelsi fortress, perched on top of a rocky plateau, dominates the Vère Valley and Grésigne forest. Protected behind almost 800m/0.5mi of ramparts, the streets of this charming village, one of the most beautiful of France, are lined with 15C houses, small walled gardens and narrow passageways. The ramparts command splendid views of the surrounding countryside, vineyards, forests and green hillsides.
