A.E. Doyle, who designed several of the glazed terra-cotta buildings around Pioneer Courthouse Square, used brick, limestone and Wilkinson sandstone for the faþade of this dignified Georgian Revival-style library. Completed in 1913, the library is considered a landmark of early Portland architecture.
