Ostia was home to several different baths, in addition to those in the forum. The Baths of Mithras have retained a staircase heading down to the hypocaust (heating system) plus a few remains of the frigidarium, while an attractive mosaic floor can still be seen in the circular room of the Terme dei Sette Sapienti. Outside the walls, the Terme della Marciana houses a frigidarium adorned with a beautiful mosaic.
