Now a museum, the charmingly old-fashioned house is full of mementoes relating to George Sand and her guests, who included Chopin, Liszt, Balzac, Flaubert and Delacroix... Some of the rooms have not changed since the 19C. The novelist wrote her first literary essays in the parlour of a small room with painted woodwork. In the garden, which inspired the writer, there are a rose garden, an orchard and a wooded park on the edge where she is buried.
