The four towers and columns of Po Nagar were once part of a much larger complex of around a dozen places of worship. Originally built in wood in the 7C, these were completely destroyed by the Javanese in 774 and rebuilt from the 8C-12C using brick and stone. The full charm of the site is best appreciated in the early morning when it is deserted. However, the sight of numerous Vietnamese visitors praying at the altar dedicated to the goddess Po Ino Nagar is also worthy of interest in itself.
