Lake Victoria (swimming is not advised), the largest lake in Africa, is divided between Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya. The lake extends across a region rich in pleasant lakeside towns (Bukoba, Musoma) and cultural sights (at Bujora and Butiama). The region also offers the chance to meet some of the local ethnic groups.
