A complex of 15C and 17C houses is home to the only European museum dedicated to a monastic order, except for the Hispanic Carmelites. The museum is devoted to religious art, and boasts an extensive collection, the only one of its kind in France, charting the history of the Order of the Visitation, whose founder, Jeanne de Chantal, died in Moulins in 1641. The collections also include pieces of French and European religious and civil silverware and objects of devotion.
