The best way to explore the Kremlin, triangular fortifications, whose brick ramparts are dotted with towers, is to follow the itinerary that runs alongside the river as far as Red Square, and then along the walls that border the Alexander Gardens, where Koutafia Tower provides access to the fortress. The view of the whole complex from the opposite bank of the Moskova is impressive, as is that from the Great Stone Bridge and the Great Moscow Bridge.
