Opposite the Loggia dei Mercanti, another palace seems to offer a rejoinder: today the seat of the town hall, it was built between 1515 and 1517 by Sangallo the Elder for the Ciocchi del Monte family. Step inside the pretty courtyard, then walk across it to take a turn in the fine garden that extends to the rear.
