Seated in a carriage, the goddess of fertility and abundance is drawn by two lions. Plaza de Cibeles, so dear to the hearts of Madrileños, is where Calle de Alcalá, Gran Vía, Paseo del Prado and Paseo de Recoletos all converge. All around are impressive buildings, such as the Bank of Spain, suitably austere, and the palaces, Palacio de Cibeles and Palacio de Linares.
