You can choose between two modes of transport to appreciate the beauty of the Sil's gorges: by boat, departing from Santo Estevo, or on foot (via the OU 605 and OU 903 hiking paths). The former reveals the austere and wild face of the gorges which are gradually transformed into delightful amphitheatres of greenery as you approach the Abeleda bridge. The road also provides an opportunity to admire the beautiful terraced vineyards, and to stop at the monastery of Santa Cristina, hidden amid the chestnut trees.
