Begun in the late 11C, it was here that the famous Royal Welsh Fusiliers regiment was founded in 1689, just before the place was abandoned. This long history explains the variety of architectural styles, ranging from the Norman era to the Tudor style. The chapel is one of only five round chapels in Britain.
