Executed in numerous phases, this ambitious regeneration scheme is an architectural phenomenon which, despite futuristic comparisons to Metropolis, incorporates plenty of light and space. It is dominated by London's highest building, One Canada Square, by Cesar Pelli. A concert hall, restaurants, shopping arcades, green spaces and the excellent Museum of London Docklands make this a lively area, full of business people on weekdays and sightseers at weekends.
