This Mannerist castle dates from the era of Emperor Rudolf II (1604). The Schlossmuseum, part of the Upper Austria Museum, is dedicated to art in the federal state of Upper Austria from the Middle Ages to the Rococo period (first floor). There is also a substantial weapons' collection. Collections relating to folk arts and handicrafts, as well as a display of medals and a 19C picture gallery, occupy the second floor. Fine views from the terrace which overlooks the Danube.
