Housed in the rooms of the former bishop's palace, the museum charts the history of Lausanne from its origins to the present day. Since spring 2018, a new permanent exhibition is devoted to urban metamorphoses. Look out for a model of the city as it was in 1638. The city's urbanisation is presented according to themes (water, housing, bridges, influence of the Lumières, hygiene and health, etc.) and documented by the institution's rich collections.
