Notwithstanding its name, Szeroka Street is in fact a square. The hub of Kraków's Jewish commercial and religious life from the 15C to the 19C, it was also the market square. Today it is the epicentre of Kazimierz and teems with tourists, lured by its hotels, galleries, bars and traditional Jewish restaurants. In a recess of the courtyard of a restaurant at n°16 is the former Popper synagogue, now a cultural centre. Jordan Palace is opposite.
