The ruins at Kamiros, scattered across a small valley, are mainly from the Hellenistic period. They are divided into three areas: the agora, the place of assembly around which were laid out the Roman baths, a Temple of Apollo (3C BC) and the Heroon, a sanctuary dedicated to the heroes and the gods. Beyond that was the residential area. A long Doric portico is lined with beautiful columns above a series of cisterns. The acropolis has the ruins of a Temple of Athena.
