Museum of the Hospital of St Roch
O Guide Vert
Opinião do Guia Michelin
A museum since 1966, the old hospice dedicated to St Roch, patron saint of plague victims, was built in the 12C on piles over the River Théols and enlarged between the 15C and 18C. The collections cover archaeology, sculpture (two Tree of Jesse sculptures, dating from the late 15C, the only such pieces in Europe), public health, fine arts, primitive art and contemporary art. In 2015, the museum received the exceptional donation of Zao Wou-Ki's entire personal collection, comprising 90 pieces by 20C artists.
