Eleven monuments which pay tribute to the monks who preserved the national Glagolitic script are lined up along this "alley", created alongside the road between 1977 and 1985. The brainchild of the poet Zvane Crnja, founder of the Cakavienne academy (named after the dialect spoken in Istria and the gulf of Kvarner), the works are by a sculptor, Zelimir Janes, and a professor of ancient literature, Josip Bratulic.
