Kemmelberg, a 156m-high wooded hill, is part of the Flanders peaks that lie on either side of the border. The area saw bitter fighting in April 1918, at the start of the last big German offensive. From the top of the hill you are treated to fine views of the countryside. The obelisk on the south slope marks the site of the French Ossuary.
