A majestic driveway leads to this imposing 12C castle of the Harcourt family that was turned into a dwelling in the 17C. A path runs along the dry moats enclosing the surrounding wall, which is flanked by towers standing in ruins. The path commands fine views of the fortified complex. The lower courtyard is separated from the keep by an inner moat, and the Classical lines of the façade contrast with the medieval remains. The exhibition inside charts the history of the estate. Be sure to see the adjoining arboretum.
