The focus of this museum is immediately apparent from the display of damaged aircraft and spoils of war in the courtyard. Dedicated to the long conflicts endured by the country, the museum has one wing which tells the story of the battle of Dien Bien Phu, with a model, old photos and the famous Viet Minh bicycle used to transport artillery. Other rooms display collections of campaign maps, weapons and moving photos, many of which date from the war against the Americans.
