Located opposite the station, on an island in the middle of the canal, this superb multi-faceted building (1992-1994) is home to the regional museum. The collections on display are perhaps lacking in unity, but not interest. Of particular note are works of art from the De Ploeg expressionist movement and the decorative arts (beautiful Chinese and Japanese porcelain). Temporary exhibitions are frequently held here.
